Since 2001 he has frequently been booked as a guest at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he appeared as Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus) in the last season. He was also Guglielmo in the 2006/2007 season at the Potsdamer Winteroper, Donald in "Billy Budd" at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich under the baton of Kent Nagano and he sang the part of Paul in the German premiere of "Les Enfants terribles" by Phillip Glass at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Timothy Sharp took part in the world premiere recordings of Robert Kurka's "The Good Soldier Schweik" and of Salvatore Sciarrino's "Luci mie traditrici", singing the main part of Il Malaspino. This CD was recorded live and released in 2003 by Stradivarius Records; it has been awarded the prestigious "Choc du monde" award and was chosen "CD Of The Year 2004" by The Guardian newspaper. Recent performances included his debut at the La Fenice in Venice, concerts under the direction of Enoch zu Guttenberg at the Philharmonie in Munich, a tour as Count Almaviva in "La nozze di Figaro" to the Ukraine, performances at the Teatro Comunale Bolzano (Jean in “Julie” by P. Boesmanns), the Berlin State Opera (Uria in “Batsheba, Eat The History!”), at the Beethoven Festival in Warshaw under the direction of Martin Haselböck, at the Bühnen Wuppertal in the title role of Monteverdis “Il ritorno ‘Ulisse in patria”and his French debut under the baton of Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Paris (Salle Pleyel). Timothy Sharp sang the part of Ulisses in Monteverdi' "Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria" in Wuppertal and the part of Count Almaviva at the TfN Hildesheim, where he returned this season as Zar Peter in "Zar und Zimmermann" by Lortzing and as Dr. Falke in "Die Fledermaus". With the Stuttgarter Philharmonic Orchestra he performed under the baton of Gabriel Feltz and he will sing make appearances with the Wuppertaler Sinfonic Orchestra and the Staatsorchestra Braunschweig. His debut CD "Nacht und Träume" - Songs by Franz Schubert - has been released in 2006. |
